PG 1/60 ZGMF-X20A Strike Freedom Gundam WIP. by aryss-skahara PG 1/60 ZGMF-X20A Strike Freedom Gundam WIP. by aryss-skahara
Strike Freedom is mostly complete. Took this whole weekend to paint and assemble the wings - the way they're designed there are two sets of 4 unique pieces, 1 set for each wing, so to avoid any misassemble issues I decided to follow the guide and make them by two at a time. Now all is left are Dragoon bits. Still unsure if I will use any stickers, as they are mostly designed for white background and won't be as visible on dark.

This turned out to be my biggest project now, with time spent somewhere around 50 hours mark and there'll be at least 8 more hours to paint and assemble Dragoon bits. Anyway, I really like how this kit turns out and this is time well spent.

Looks something like Strike Freedom Clotho Buer custom. Really reminds me of the Raider Gundam and for more reasons then just the color scheme.

That...is some seriously amazin' work you got there, pal. One of the cleanest and most impressive custom paint jobs I've seen to date, especially on a kit like the MG SF. The hands look freakin' sexy - they don't look like the normal MG hands SF comes with - did you customize them? :O_o:

Thought it was the Blitz at first, actually - did you base it's color scheme off of that?

That's not an MG - it's PG, so it's much more simple to paint and that explains the hands ) The color scheme came to me long before MG Blitz came out, I guess somewhere in February. I saw some other custom painted kit (already forgot which kit exactly it was) which alternated flat prime color with certain parts painted in gloss bright red or orange. I decide to do that with flat dark grey and gloss red and had to wait till weather warms up as I'm using spray cans and doing my painting on a window sill. By then when I tested the grey color I had (Tamiya's German Grey) and it turned out to be a bit more brighter than I wanted, so I decided to add some flat black to the mix as well. I mostly followed kit's original paint scheme white = grey, blue = black, red=red with some small alternations where I thought it would make it look better.
